1996 Spring Break at Steamboat Springs

Trev says: "Hey, lets all go to Colorado for Spring Break next year!" We go "Cool!" Thus the trip was born. And only recently it was executed. So 6 of us pack into Dan's van on Saturday, March 2 and drive 1300 miles to get to Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, one of the best ski resorts in North America. It kicked butt! Here is the story.

We're on the way through northern Colorado, and it looks like tundra.
OK, here's the whole gang, top row left to right: Mark Stock (me), Chris Milas, Dan Shauver, Markus Nee; bottom row: Len Smith, and Trevor Vert. We're all ready to ride that gondola up again.
This is Dan in our condo (we were in the Shadow Run Condominiums, no shit!), and we don't quite know what he's doing.
Third day, snow everywhere, this is one of the 5 or so lift areas at 9 AM.
Here's me about to climb a small wall on one of the greens. By the time the trip was over, I had gone down two black diamonds and most of the blue trails there.
Here's Len, Dan, and Trev all decked out in their Oakleys and posing in front of the Van-o-2600 miles.
Here's just a beautiful and hi-res picture of the fresh snow on some trees halfway up the second peak.
Here's Dan again, cruising by the cameraman (Markus) and down Heavenly Daze, a fast blue.
And here's Markus cruising by me in typical Get-the-phrack-out-of-my-way-you-targets pose.
Beautiful picture of myself and Dan atop the third peak. Don't ask where my snowboard was, I had an unfortunate run-in with an anti-snowdrift.
Here's Markus on a typical through-the-trees trail that were found in abundance at Steamboat.
This is a great action shot of me whipping by Markus in full-fall. Its quite riveting, isn't it?. This reminds me of a joke. What's the difference between a vacuum cleaner and a snowboard?, answer
And this is the aftermath of that wipe.
What a beautiful image to leave on: a nice, mogully black diamond. The closest I got to this one was the chairlift we were on at the time.
